St-Emilion

The group had a great visit to Saint-Emilion, a beautiful medieval walled city located on top of a hill. There are narrow and steep cobblestoned streets, an old castle and a church.

But the main attraction of this town is the excellent Bordeaux wine being produced by the vineyards surrounding the town, up to the foot of the ramparts.

Clearly, Mario was in paradise! Quite a few delicious wines were tasted and too few were purchased.

And being model parents, Mario and Vicki abandoned the kids on the street with a few comic books to occupy themselves...

During that time, Michael and Alan were spotted around town on the hunt for sweets and funky-looking modern art.

After Saint-Émilion, Maggie and the Gagnons made a stop at Château Monbazillac, a beautiful 16th-century estate that is also renowned for its beautiful vineyards producing a delicious Sauternes-like sweet dessert wine.

This visit with wine-tasting provided Joy and Tristan the opportunity to practice their skills in highway robbery, shooting wine corks from the crossbows that they purchased earlier that day.

We live in hope that they may help to fund our NEXT trip to France!
