Seine and street scenes

Paris is a wonderful city to explore at a leisurely pace. The Seine River intersects the city core, and many great areas are accessible by wandering around or by a quick ride in the excellent metro system.

The Gagnons opted for a nice boat ride to appreciate the view of the city from the river and admire the numerous bridges crossing it.

The beach festival known as Paris Plages

Interesting way of parking your car when you live on a boat!

With good shoes, it is possible to cover a lot of ground around Paris and see many of the most famous attractions.

Notre-Dame de Paris

Jardin des Plantes

Galleries Lafayette, where Joy shopped for dresses.

Opéra Garnier

Le Louvre

Arc de Triomphe

Place de la Concorde

We were also able to admire many beautiful "ordinary" buildings that make the city so appealing.

We also encountered many historically important characters like:

The Admiral de Coligny.
It was in his bedroom that Vicki and Mario slept in the castle in the Dombes.

Churchill

The General

The layout of the streets with their abundant trees and gorgeous floral arrangements made walking around such a pleasure.

And then, always some interesting features here and there, like these thousands of love locks on a bridge near Notre-Dame.

An of course, something for the chocolate lovers...
